Synthia Baggett May 27, 1847 - Feb 17 1897 & Allen S. Baggett March 12, 1842 – Dec 14, 1907
"Allen was born in Tennessee. Was conscripted and fought through the Civil War (confederate). The war ruined the south and after the war went North to Iowa were James Newton was born. People in the North were so bitter that the family moved to Kansas." - Notes from Alta Roemer - 1974.
Some research shows that Synthia and Allen moved to what is now Arion, Iowa to the land that had been settled in the 1840's by her paternal uncle James Morgan Butler and his family.
Allen was the only child of his father (Allen) that was willed money from his uncle Abraham Clinton Baggett. It seems that his brother, James Newton Baggett, and he remained close through the years as he also moved to Glencoe, OK. and their sons Charles and James maintained contact up into the 1920s.
