Ryan & Ready Lines
Came to the US with three children in 1848. All of the children had smallpox and only Matthew Ryan survived. He had to be smuggled in to the country in a basket of clothes. They died young of sun stroke and tuberculosis respectively and Matthew became the head of the family. Matthew's sister, Fanny, moved to Kansas City to live with Maggie Coughlin.
